Privacy Policy

How the Evidence First website handles information and optional analytics.

Controller and website model

The data controller for Evidence First is Lello Molinario. Privacy-related requests can be made through the channels listed on the Contact page. Evidence First is a publication-focused website. It does not require registration to access public companion material and does not currently provide user accounts, advertising, behavioral profiling, case-data submission or evidence-upload forms.

Site operation and security

The website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Hosting, delivery and security services may process technical request information needed to serve and protect the site, such as IP address, request metadata, security events and connection information, under the provider’s applicable terms and privacy documentation. Evidence First uses this processing for reliable and secure website operation.

Aggregate measurement

Cloudflare Web Analytics is used for aggregate site-performance and campaign measurement. It is not used by Evidence First to create advertising profiles or to track visitors across unrelated websites.

Optional Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity

Evidence First uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity as optional analytics services. Their analytics tags are loaded only after a visitor explicitly accepts analytics. Before that choice, Evidence First does not load the GA4 or Clarity tracking tag.

When consent is granted, GA4 may process page/referrer information, browser and device characteristics, approximate geographic information and interaction/event data. Microsoft Clarity may collect interaction events such as clicks, scrolling, pointer movement and page visibility, together with page/DOM information used for heatmaps and session playback; privacy-sensitive content is masked by Clarity according to its service controls. Evidence First does not intentionally send case data, account identifiers or user-supplied personal content to these analytics services.

The legal basis relied on by Evidence First for these optional analytics is the visitor’s consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time through the Analytics settings control in the site footer. Advertising-related consent signals remain denied; Evidence First does not configure GA4 User-ID, Google Signals, remarketing or advertising personalization for this implementation.

Consent and retention choices

The browser stores the analytics preference locally so the site can remember whether optional analytics were accepted or rejected. The site treats that preference as valid for up to 180 days. GA4 first-party cookies, when consent is granted, are configured by Evidence First for approximately 13 months without extending their expiry on every page load. Clarity may set its analytics cookies after consent; Microsoft currently documents 30-day retention for playback data and 9-month retention for click/heatmap data and labeled or favorited sessions. Provider-side retention rules may change independently and are governed by the applicable service settings and terms.

Recipients and international processing

Where optional analytics are enabled with consent, Google receives GA4 data and Microsoft receives Clarity data according to their respective service and data-protection terms. These providers may process data through international infrastructure subject to the safeguards and contractual mechanisms described in their documentation. Cloudflare separately processes technical delivery and security data according to its own terms.

Your rights and choices

You may refuse optional analytics without losing access to public Evidence First content. You can later change or withdraw the analytics choice using the footer control and can also clear site storage and cookies through your browser. Where applicable under data-protection law, you may exercise rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, and may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. For privacy-related enquiries or rights requests, use the channels listed on the Contact page.

Downloads and external links

Public downloads do not require an Evidence First account. When you follow a link to an external website, that destination may process information under its own privacy policy. Evidence First does not control third-party privacy practices.
